The two-day match North Otago v. South Canterbury played at Oamaru during the week-end was drawn, but South Canterbury had a substantial lead on the first innings.

The local side batted first and through several players made confident stands, none of them survived the thirties and the side was all out for 156. Kerr, Taiaroa, Bedford and Cartwright all batted well and looked set for big scores when they succumbed.

Shewan was the backbone of South Canterbury's innings and made his 83 runs by good cricket.
