Oamaru and Valley registered wins in the Dick Hunt competition games played on Saturday. Eastern batted first against Oamaru and made 142 for six in the twenty overs. Geoff Grubb(49) and Dave Oldham(39) were the main contributors. Bowling for Oamaru Englishman Ed Hall took three for 28 off his four overs while Brayden Lindsay took two for 17 including the wicket of South African Stephan Grobler for a duck. Oamaru had nine balls remaining when it passed the Eastern total.Jordan Bartlett(40) topscored with Ben Cant(35) and Regan George(32) the other major contributors. Bowling for Eastern Grubb took two for 14.

Valley had a three wicket win over Albion. Albion batting first was dismissed for 129 in the seventeenth over with Amir Mirza(33) and Ian Cooney(33) the best of the batsmen with Nathan Smith adding 28. Bowling for Valley Blair Rawson took two for 17 and Francois Mostert claiming four for two off three overs. Valley had an over in reserve when it passed the Albion total at 130 for seven . Mostert topscoring with 49 and Andrew Harding added 27 while with the ball Smith took three for 26 and Sam Wicks, three for 15.

The round six game between Valley and Eastern was abandoned because of heavy rain late in the afternoon.
