Albion defeated Oamaru/St Kevins and Valley downed Union in Borton Cup cricket played on Saturday.

Batting first Oamaru made144 before the tenth wicket fell in the thirtieth over with James Ferris hitting thirty seven runs off sixteen balls  while bowling for Albion Sam Fleming took three for 35, Ricky Whyte,three for 54 and Brad Kernahan,two for 18.

An eighty seven run partnership between Steve Halliwell(49) and Andrew Searle(39 not out) backed up by a Dylan Winter unbeaten thirty nine saw Albion through to 145 for two.

Out at Weston Park highscoring was the order of the day. Batting first Valley made 268 for seven after being eighty five for five but Cameron Grubb(96), Hamish McKenzie(44), Nathan McLaughlin(69)  took Valley through to two hundred and eighty.Hayden Creedy took three for 68 for Union.Union fell short of its target by sixty two runs  with Sam Bastin(43), Glynn Cameron(87), Ryan Fraser(20) and Daniel Martin(24) the best of the Union batsmen.
