Glenavy, Union and Oamaru each had relatively comfortable victories in the Borton Cup on Saturday.

After posting a solid 180 in 42.2 overs against St Kevin's, Glenavy rolled the school team for 111 to post a 69-run win.

Opening batters Harry Murphy (31) and Hamish McCulloch (36 off 32 balls) gave the visiting side a solid start at the school grounds, and Jordan Mulligan (32) chipped in some handy runs at No 4.

Liam Direen (three for 23) and Hamish Fowler (three for 29) both bowled well for St Kevin's.

Jack Kelly got the schoolboys' reply off to a decent start with 35 off 46 balls, and Jacob Fowler contributed 26 off 32, but there was not enough support from the rest of the order as the innings folded in the 34th over.

Glenavy's star performer with the ball was Rodney van Leeuwen, who capped a superb 7.5-over spell with figures of five for 26.

Union dismissed Waitaki Boys' for 133 at King George Park and chased down the target in the 22nd over with eight wickets to spare.

Waitaki Boys' rather wasted the good start provided by top-order batters Angus Isbister (41) and Jordan Horrell (40 off 39 balls).

To be fair, the Union bowlers had a major say in that as both Brad Fleming (six for nine off 6.1 overs) and Liam Mavor (three for 40) had success.

Thomas Anderson blasted 61 not out off 54 balls (nine fours, two sixes) and Alex Wilson added 46 off 43 (six fours, two sixes) as Union romped to victory.

At Centennial Park, Oamaru had a five-wicket win over Albion.

Albion crumbled for 99 in 32.1 overs.

Amal Asok scored 38 but the rest of the batting card was on the grim side as Oamaru bowlers Stephan Grobler (three for 11), Lachlan Brookes (three for 16) and Asanka Gamlathge (two for 20) all profited.

Asok (two for 25) and Jikku Joseph (two for 11) then bowled nicely for Albion but Hunter Wardle played a steady hand for Oamaru with 25 off 69 balls and Grobler (14 not out off 45 balls) dug in till victory was achieved.
