The Otago Association with a belated realisation of the fact that they have long staved cricket in Oamaru, sent up a team of junior representatives to revive interest in the game. It was not the sort of eleven best fitted to fulfil that purpose, though some one or two of the visitors must be given credit for playing well, notably Brinsley. The fielding of both sides was shocking, and the bowlers gained little assistance from the other members of the teams. W. Uttley, M. Ongley, and G. Uttley all made runs for the local team, and if the first-named was lucky he compensated by making many good strokes. The game resulted in a draw.
