The Central Otago team having scored 305 in the first innings, dismissed North Otago for 161, of which G. Cowles made 44 by confident hitting and J. Brown 38 in more careful mood, and then rid of them again for 153. Hannam and Cowles both batted well for their runs, but with the exception of Long, none of the others shaped well. Central Otago was left with only 10 runs to get and these were hit up without loss, giving the visitors an innings win.
