Union batted first and made 197 for nine in its fifty overs with Duncan Drew(36) and Sam Bastin(35) featuring in a third wicket stand of 67 runs while bowling for Valley Reuben Simpson took three for 48 and Manoj Thomas, two for 27.

Andrew Harding(61 not out) and Reuben Simpson(41) then produced a seventh wicket stand of 110 runs guiding the side through to 201 for eight in the fortieth over. Bowling for Union Glynn Cameron took three for 26 and Blake James claimed two for 16. Union conceded a helpful 43 extras.
